CROSSED TASMAN ON ULIMAROA ONE CHARGED WITH FRAUD Arrested when the Ulimaroa berthed at Auckland yesterday, John Cable Forde, a mechanic, and Lewis Graham, a drainiayer, both aged 29, were charged at the Police Court this morning with stowing away on the Ulimaroa at Sydney on September 27. They both pleaded guilty, and SubInspector McCarthy said that the fare was £ 6 10s. Neither man had any money. The accused were each fined £6, in default 14 days’ imprisonment. On a charge of obtaining goods valued at £8 12s from Holloway Bros, at Invercargill on August 24 by means of a valueless cheque, Forde was remanded at his own request to appear at Invercargill.
