FIRE AT PAPATOETOE

HOUSE PARTIALLY DESTROYED A five-roomed wooden residence at Hillside Road, Papatoetoe, owned by Burnside Bros., and occupied by Mr. Harold Baildon, was partially destroyed by fire at 2.30 this morning'. Mr. Baildon was awakened by smoke and aroused his wife and two children" who were safely removed. The Papatoetoe Fire Brigade attended, and with the help of the highpressure water service saved a portion of the front of the house. The furniture was practically a total loss. The house was insured in the Liverpool and Lancashire Office, but the amount is not available. The furniture was insured in the New Zealand Office for £250. ~ *
