GOOD START

TRADE COMMISSIONER AT MOTOR CONFERENCE The conference of the New Zealand Motor Trade at Palmerston North was a complete success. It was unique in the respect that it was the first attended by a British Trade Commissioner, as Mr. L. A. Paish, the new commissioner, attended. People who have attended the Invercargill, Nelson, Christchurch, and Palmerston North conferences have listened to speeches by the American Trade Commissioner, Mr. Julian Foster. It is not recalled that the British Trade Commissioner was present at the opening ceremony of any of the ten motor Olympias held in Christchurch. Mr. Julian Foster is never too busy, though he works hard, to attend motor shows, conferences, and A. and P. Shows throughout the country. Mr. Paish has started well in following Mr. Foster’s good example in a field of propaganda neglected by the British, in the past few years at any rate.
