LAST DAYS OF “THUNDERBOLT” The daring escapades of a notorious criminal form the plot of ‘ Thunderbolt," the all-talking picture which is now drawing to the close of its season at the Plaza Theatre. The well-known actor, George Bancroft. who was successfully cast in ••The Wolf of Wall Street,” has the leading role of the criminal, Jim Bang. The many exploits of Bang .have earned him the name of ‘ Thunderbolt. Bang succeeds in eluding the police until he visits a cabaret with his sweetheart, Ritzy, and there he is arrested. While in prison he learns that Ritzy is in love with another man. How he plans to avenge himself on the two makes an absorbing The cast includes Pay Wray, Richard Arlen, Tully Marshall and Eugenie Besseiei<^tio n there ; s an excellent supporting programme. A feature of the screen version of “Abie's Irish Rose,” the talking and svnchronised picture which will be the new attraction at the' Plaza from B riday, is, according to Anne Nichols, the author, its faithful portrayal of the basic idea of tolerance, which was the main theme of Miss Nichols's original work. Charles Rogers and Nancy Carroll are featured in the /name parts. ... , The characters of the Irish and Jewish fathers in this screen version of “Abie’s Irish Rose,” are ably portrayed by J. Parrell MacDonald and Jean Hersholt, respectively. Mr. and Mrs. Cohen are played by Bernard Gorcey and Ida. Kramer, who played the original stage characters on Broadway.
