CAPSIZE AT BEND

THREE MEN INJURED ONE IN SERIOUS CONDITION (From Our Own Correspondent J WHANGAREI, Today. After proceeding down Kamo Hill last night a large car capsized when rounding the bend at the foot of the hill. The car was owned by Mr. G. Hansard, taxi proprietor, who was in the rear of the ear, and was driven by Mr. L. Le Lievre, also a taxi-driver, and Mr. Bateman, another driver, was seated in front. The car turned over twice, throwing the driver and the other man in the front seat clear, but Mr. Hansard remained in the car and suffered two broken ribs and a broken collarbone. Later he was admitted to the hospital in a semi-conscious condition. The driver received slight injuries to his back, and Mr. Bateman was badly bruised about the head and shoulders. The hood of the car was almost torn off, and the running board crushed. Mr. Hansard’s condition was still serious this morning.
