PEDIGREE BULL SALE

PRICES LOWER FOR TODAY’S OFFERING MANY JACK FINISH An aggregate yarding of approximately 30U grade and pedigree dairy bulls were yarded at Messrs. Alfred Kuckland and Son’s annual Pukekohe bull sale held at that centre today. Competition tended to drag and classes generally were not up to the level of last year. The lot of the auctioneer was made harder by the fact that a big percentage of the offering lacked finish, many being in poor condition in which to start the season. The breeding and pedigree was well up to that of offerings at fairs of recent years, several well-bred bulls being yarded. Buyers for the most part were not prepared to pay high prices, however. Grade bulls made up a big percentage of the offering. Bulls sold at 15 guineas or over prior to the luncheon adjournment included: One pedigree Jersey on account B. •T. Bilkey, Buckland, sold to J. Porter, Hauraki Plains, for logns. One Jersey, on account J. Carter, Mauku, sold to O. (J. Brewster, Pukekawa, lSgns. One Jersey, on account T. Pollock, Pukekohe, sold to T. McNamara, for 20gns.
