REMARKABLE REUNION
THREE BROTHERS MEET FOR FIRST TIME TWO NEW ZEALANDERS fUnited P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) Australian and X.Z. Press Association Rood. 9.35 a.m. LONDON, Sunday. One of the straugest reunions on record occurred at Bradford, when brothers, whose ages aggregate 217. met for the first time. They are: Mr. John Pearce Smith, aged 77: Mr. Frederick George Smith, aged 75. both from Napier. New Zealand; and Mr. Arthur Smith, of Bradford, who entertained his brothers at dinner. The family was originally Cornish, but a depression in tin-mining resulted iu John and Frederick going to sea at the age of 14. They became captains, and were never home on leave together. Finally they settled down in New Zea’and. Arthur says he is proud that his brothers have done their share in the colonisation of New Zealand. John has six married daughters. 22 grandchildren, and four great-grand-children. Fred has five married children and several grandchildren John was a it* ember of the New Zealand bowling team in 1921. The brothers arranged their next meeting for 1932. Mr. F. G. Smith is a retired merchant of Napier, and Mr. J. P. Smith Is a wine and spirit merchant in that town.
