“SHOW BOAT” TOMORROW Give and Take" The delightful alltalking comedy starring Jean Hersholt, George Sydney and George Lewis will be presented at the Empress Theatre, Newton for the last time this evening. “Give and .Take’* tells of an old fruit factory owner who proudly hands the business over to his son on return from college, only for the boy to try and put into practice new ideas of Industrial Democracy. Many laughable sitxiations arise before things turn out all right. “Show Boat** the spectacular alltalking and singing production of the Mississippi River will be shown at this theatre tomorrow. Laure La Plante and Joseph Schildkraut are the stars in this big colourful and tuneful show.
Paramount has completed a new niltalking picture titled “Applause. The Principal role is played by Helen Morgan, former Broadway star, others in the oast include Joan Peter and Jack Cameron, well-known stage players.
