FIRE AT KEREPEEHI

THEATRE AUDIENCE FORMS BUCKET BRIGADE BAKEHOUSE DESTROYED (From Our Own (7 or respondent) NGATEA, Today. A bakehouse at Iverepeehi, owned by Mr. H. K. Petersen and used by Mr. J. Boyd, was destined by fire at about 9 o’clock on Saturday evening. The fire had a firm hold when discovered and nothing could be done to save the wooden building or the garage alongside containing a delivery van. The alarm was given at the local picture entertainment and the audience left in a body. Energies were successfully directed to preventing .the lire spreading to the shop and dwelling. The connections of four water-tanks were broken and a bucket brigade formed. There was an insurance policy of £2OO in the Royal Exchange Office.
