MAILS ARRIVING.—Ulimaroa, from Sydney, due Auckland on October 1, has 201 bags English, Eastern and Australian mail, and 336 bags of parcel mail, for Auckland.
HURUNUI AT LONDON.—The New Zealand Shipping Company has been no tilled by cable that the Hurunui arrived at London on Wednesday last from Auckland, via New York and Boston. The vessel left Auckland on August i).
CANADIAN CONQUEROR AT NEW YORK. —Cabled news has been received by the Canadian National Steamships that the Canadian Conqueror arrived at New York last Sunday from Auckland, en route to Boston and Montreal. Tlie vessel left Auckland on August 13.
CANADIAN CRUISER DUE TOMORROW, —A further radio message received by the local office of the Canadian National Steamships states that the Canadian Cruiser is expected to arrive at Auckland tomorrow afternon from Montreal. She will berth later at the Prince’s Wharf to unload the local portion of her* cargo before proceeding to Wellington and Australian ports to complete.
THE CANADIAN CHALENGER.—The Canadian Challenger arrived at Dunedin at 7.30 a.m. on Thursday from Timaru to complete discharge and to load. She was to leave Dunedin at 5 p.m. yesterday for Wellington, and is due there on Sunday evening. The vessel is to load there for New York, Boston and Montreal, and will sail on Monday for Auckland to fill up. The Canadian Challenger is to sail finally from Auckland next Thursday.
THE KARAMEA DELAYED. —The Shaw, Savill and Ailbion Company advises that the Karamea was delayed in loading in the Wanganui roadstead on Thursday by bad weather. The vessel was not expected to arrive at Wellington until today from Wanganui, and will leave tlieye on Tuesday for Auckland. The ship is still expected to get away from Auckland on October 5 for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow, via Panama.
REMUERA TO LOAD FOR WEST COAST UNITED KINGDOM.—The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that its passenger liner Kemuera is fixed to load at New Zealand ports for West Coast ports of Great Britain, in addition to London. The vessel last loaned in the Dominion for the West Coast in 11)25. She is due at Auckland on October 6 from London and Southampton, and after putting out part cargo will go to Wellington, where she is due on October 14, to complete discharge. The Remuera will commence loading at New Plymouth, and will then load,, also at Lyttelton, Auckland and Wellington. She is due back at Wellington on November 4, and is to proceed from that port to Napier to fill up. The liner is timed to sail finally from Napier on November 0 for Soutnanipton, London, Avonmouth, Glasgow and Liverpool, via the Panama route.
WHALERS CALLING AT WELLINGTON.—According to a report, both the factory ships of the Rosshanet Whaling Company wilb call at Wellington on their way to the Antarctic. In former seasons the. Sir James Claris: Ross, 8,224 tons, has coaled at Stewart Island before departing southwards with her chasers. Since her last voyage, however, this ship has had her boilers fitted for oil-fuel and her bunkers arranged to carry a large supply. The Clark Ross is now on her way down the Pacific, and is expected to arrive at Wellington about October 12 to take in oil-fuel. In all probability she will bunker at Miramar. The C. A. Larsen, 13,246 tons, from Norway, via San Pedro, is due at Wellington about October 14 to take in fresh water and. oil fuel supplies before proceeding south. Special interest attaches to the coming visit of the new factory ship Kosmos, 20,000 tons register, the largest vessel of her type in the world. Accompanied by seven new chasers, this ship is expected to arrive in Wellington on October 5,
KAIRANGA FOR GLADSTONE.—The local office of the Union Company advises that the collier Kairanga will leave Auckland on Wednesday for Gladstone, Queensland, to load for New' Zealand. PIAKO FROM LIVERPOOL.— The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Piako is now scheduled to reach Auckland from Liverpool next Wednesday. The vessel has general merchandise from West Coast ports of Great Britain for discharge at Auckland. Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff. KAIAPOI REPORTS. —xtccording to a radio message received by the local office of the Union Company, the steamer Kaiapoi, en route from South Australian ports, Melbourne and Hobart, is expected to arrive at Auckland at 6 a.m. tomorrow. She will berth at the Prince’s Wharf, and on Monday sails again for Portland to load cement for Wellington and Lyttelton. OIL FROM LOS AN G ELES.— Under charter to the Atlantic Union Oil Company, the new Swedish motor-tanker Gustaf E. Reuter is reported to have cleared Los Angeles last Wednesday with a bulk oil cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne and Sydney. She is due at Auckland about October 17. She is a vessel of 6,336 tons and was built at Gothenburg, Sweden, last year. MAKURA'S PASSENGERS. -- The R.M.S.
