FARM TRAIN IN INDIA
Demonstration trains used in. India to spread knowledge among the agricultural classes are described in the “Railway Gazette.” Nearly all the railways of India are now running these trains, which carry exhibits and demonstrators with the object of promoting health and sanitation, and imparting information required in agriculture, including measures for combating cattle diseases and improving stock. One train recently started on a seven months’ tour of the NorthWestern system, and at Delhi was inspected by the Viceroy. It is hoped that by the experiment the "small man” engaged in agricultural and dairying work will be able to get the best out of his possessions. Free cinema shows form part of the scheme, and it is estimated that they have been seen by more than three million people.
