The famous airman, Captain Costes, with Lieutenant Belleconte, left Le Bourget iu au attempt to make a record non-stop flight. They have a 600 horse-power engine and 1.200 gallons of petrol. They hope to be aloft 50 hours and to cover 5.500 miles in the direction of Japan. The other French airmen. De Manier and Favreau, who left Le Bourget in a monoplane in an attempt to establish a world’s record for a nonstop flight from France to Mozambique, Portuguese East Africa, have made a forced landing. They came down near Tunis owing to a fog.
