LONG POLICE CHASE

Press Association | ( United Service J Reed. 9.27 a.m. LONDON, Friday. j When Harold Duncan, aged 32, was j charged at Manchester with theft of money, the police alleged that Duncan, by altering a joint account cheque, robbed his partner of £278. He disappeared and it was discovered that he had sailed aboard the Ormonde on May 25 for Australia. He was arrested at Colombo, l}ut he forced open his cabin-door when the ship arrived at Port Said, hired a motor-car, and travelled to Cairo by a desert road. He was again arrested there. Duncan was remanded.
