Borah, chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, urged from the floor of the Senate today “That the President advise the Senate and the country if he approves of the industrial schedules in this Bill.” Senator Borah declared: “I ask him to tell us if he approves of the duties on cement, pig-iron and other matters which increase the profits of the Steel Trust. I ask him to tell us whether he is satisfied with the duties levied by this Bill on agricultural products. Will he advise us that he is satisfied that the Bill meets the pledges he made in his last campaign.”
