AKARANA YACHT CLUB OFFICERS FOR THE YEAR The 3 928-29 season was the most successful in the history of the Aks- - Yacht Club, according to the report presented at the 34th annu&l meeting held last evening. The commodore, Mr. T. McKay, presided over a good attendance. The success of the club was due to a reorganisation by which the work of the club had been split up amoo? officers and members and to the very efficient manner in which the duties had been carried, the report stated. The task had not been light, but go;4 feeling had made it pleasant. The Building and Finance Committee had decided not to complete the new clubhouse until the liability on tho building had been reduced. Th' policy had been successful, JC399 having been paid off in addition to the payment of the season’s expenses. Several successful socials and dances had been held. The racing occupied five days and most events were keenly contested- The most popular races were the cruising events to Awaroa and to Kawau and the Wade. Racing finances were in a sound condition. Mr. G. NLiller, a committeeman and life member, had built a 7ft 6in boat and presented it to the club for the training of boys for the larger class*?He was thanked by Mr. McKay cn behalf of the club. The retiring assistant-secretary. Mr. T. McKnight, was presented with * case of pipes in recognition of his services. Following are the officers for the ensuing year: Patron. Mr. H. R.
