MOTORISTS IN HAMILTON
WORK OF A.A. ASSOCIATION (From Our Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, Today. When the annual meeting of the | Hamilton agency of the Auckland Auto- ( mobile Association was held last evening the following officers were i elected: i President, Hr. A. G. Waddell; vicepresidents. Hr. F. D. Pinfold and Messrs. F. H. Clapham and H. Tombs; ; committee. Messrs. J. F. Strang. K. R. i Gresham, W. Y. Kirkman, E. M. Masters, J. M. Griffiths. E. E. Gillman, E. ; Thomas, S. "Wilson, E. N. Valentine | and A. O. Rice. Mr. F. G. Farrell, a member of the executive council of the association, gave a review of the year’s work. During the past year, he said, the council’s policy of increasing the service to members had been continued. 3t was now claimed that practically all the benefits conferred on its members by the Automobile Associations of England could be had by joining the Auckland Association. The touring department had collected an immense amount of data, and last season published revised guides and maps. About 2,200 sign-posts had been erected in the past year and maintenance of signs was now becoming a very important feature of the association’s activities. The patrol staff was growing and consisted of seven uniformed patrols. These included three men exclusively for country work, although the other patrols periodically visited the country districts.
