THAMES STEEPLECHASE

(From Our Own Corrcspon-dcnt) THAMES, Today. Between 60 and 70 competitors took part in the Thames High School second annual steeplechase yesterday afternoon. The event was run over a two and a-half mile course, and under sealed handicap conditions. The first boy home was Ronald Strong, who led Sidney Goodwin by 60yds. The winner’s time was 14m 40s. Last year A. C. Billing’s time was 13m 54 2-ss. Under the handicap, H. Walder, whose time was 15m 265, wins the Old Boys’ Shield, and R. Strong wins the medal for the fastest time. H. Walder also secures the junior medal for the best time. Results : Old Boys’ Shield. —H. Walder, hep 2m 55sec, 1; H. Head, 2. Fastest Time Medal. —Seniors: R. Strong, 1: S.
