NEW POST OFFICES AT MOUNT ALBERT RELIEF LOAN IN VIEW ; A letter from the Postmaster- I I General, the Hon. J. B. Donald, to the { j Mount Albert Borough Council last evening was taken by one councillor ! | to mean that there was a possibility : j of the erection, next financial year, of j | new post offices at Mount Albert and i | Edendale. j The Minister said no funds were at present available for the works. He asked. further, for specific | instances supporting the complaints of undue delay in delivering tele- j grams at Edendale, but the Mayor, Air. : L. E. Rhodes, mentioned that the question had been dealt with. The , Minister will be thanked for the in- \ formation given in his letter. That the Public Works Department j would be prepared to subsidise the i proposed loan of £ 5.000 for the relief of unemployment was advised by the ! Mon. G. W. Forbes. Minister of Public I Works. The council decided to ask permission to raise the loan from the Local Bodies’ Loans Board. The question of rearranging the wards of the borough is to be considered by the council.
