PETROL-TAX REFUNDS

MORE ELASTICITY PROPOSED (THE SUN’S Parliamentary Reporter) PARLIAMENT BLDGS., Tuesday. Under the Transport Law Amendment Bill the petrol-tax will continue. The Bill provides for more elasticity regarding applications for refunds of the duty. Spirit destroyed by fire is to be covered, and where applications are made late for Statutory refunds the claim may be approved less ten per cent, reduction if the Minister of Transport is satisfied that the lateness is not the fault of the claimant.
