RESIDENTS SCARED

COUNCIL DISTURBED OVER BLASTING Strong complaints against the annoyance caused by blasting operations at night time were made by councillors at the Mount Albert Borough Council last evening. In raising the question Mr. J. R. Langley said that the operations apparently were in the vicinity of Pine Street, Mount Eden. Mr. Langley said that residents had been particularly disturbed, in view of the recent earthquakes. Mr. W. G. Russell supported Mr. Langley, saying that houses were shaken at all hours of the night. Other speakers thought the council should take action. The engineer, Mr. TV. E. Begbie, was instructed to investigate the position.
