TRANSFER OF CREWS
DIOMEDE AND DUNEDIN SHIP TO SAIL ON TUESDAY \fter seven days in the hands of the cleaners and painters, H.M.S. Diomede. which is to sail for England next Tuesday to undergo extensive refitting, came out of dock yesterday. This afternoon her crew, with the exception of about 120 ratings, were transferred to H.M.S. Dunedin, their place being taken by nearly 200 men from the Dunedin, whose term on this station has almost expired. Personal effects will be moved, but neither armaments nor fittings will be transferred, as the warship is already lully equipped. Repairs In England will occupy about 10 months. The Diomede will berth on the western side of Central Wharf on Friday io facilitate the exchange of farewells during the final week-end in port. The officers will give a dance on board, and a dance has been arranged for the men by the girls' branch of i he Navy League at the league rooms this evening.
