MORRINSVILLE CLUB From Our Own Correspondent MORRINSVILLE, Tuesday. A determined effort to increase the membership is to be made by members of the Morrinsville Tennis Club. At the annual meeting, the president, Mr. W. C. Cargill, said that the club had fallen on lean times, and a strong endeavour to improve things was essential. The committee was recommended to open the season on the last Saturday in October. It was also decided to recommend the committee to encourage school children to play tennis by granting them the use of the club’s courts. Tho election of officers resulted: President, Mr. W. C. Cargill; vice-pre-sident, Mrs. E. Jackson; secretary, Mr. C. T. Gould; treasurer, Mr. E. Crabtree; committee. Misses Hewitt, M. Grimwade, D. Lowry. A. Cornish. Messrs. J. Brown, J. Keeps; auditor. Mr. C. McKay. TE PUNINGA CLUB MORRINSVILLE, Today. | There was an exceptionally large attendance at the annual meeting of Te Puninga Tennis Club. The year’s pro- " gress was recorded in the annual report, which was adopted. The financial statement showed the debt on the courts to have been reduced to £46. It was hoped that the liability on the courts would be entirely cleared this year. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr. F. Lye. M.P.; president, Mr. P. Saxton; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. W. J. Dakers, C. T. Patterson, E. L. Old, F, Roach and D. Wright; secretary and treasurer, Mr. N. Watson; committee, Messrs. H. Skiffington, C. Murphy, Mesdames W. Douglas, H. Lewer, Misses R. Hallen, L. Saxton and N. Newbegin.
