Campolo and Phil Scott was won by the latter on points at tho end ut the tenth round. Uumpolo weighed 15.13 and Scott 15.5. There was a dispute over the oil which Scott had rubbed on the tape on hands, but the Argentinian declared ,he Englishman could use as much of die latter as lie liked. In tile first round Campolo took the offensive, but Scott rocked tile Argentinian' with lefts and rights to the head. > Campolo then tore into Scott and had him in distress. It was Campolo's round. Campolo drew blood from bis opponent's nose with a left in the second round, and they were slugging away furiously at ttie bell. The ■etcree had to pry them apart. It was jicott's- round. HARD SMASHING In tile third round the Englishman outboxed his opponent. Campolo having trouble in penetrating Scott’s guard. It was Scott's round. Both were showing evidence of punishment in the fourth. They were bleeding from the mouth and both were tiring. The ~cnd was even. In the fifth Scott got over several right hard smashes to no head, and he rocked Campolo with ;i left hook to the chin. It was Scott’s r °Canipolo rocked the Englishman with a right to the head in the sixth, but l»oth seemed weary and the action slowed up. particularly as Scott assumed the defensive. Campolo was warred for hitting low with his left. It was Campolo's round. In the seventh Campolo landed a right to the head and rushed the Englishman with both hands, scoring throughout. It was Campolo’s round. SCOTT WILLING MIXER The men were fighting with both fists in tiie eighth, but Campolo had tho better of the exchanges, staggering the Englishman with a terrific blow to the chin, but Scott was a willing mixer. The round was even. In the ninth the referee warned Scott for pushing Campolo in the face with his open glove. It was a round of close in-fighting, but Campolo was slowing up and appearing discouraged. It was Scott’s round. Scott rushed his man nil over the ring in the tenth and had the better of the exchanges as the fight came to an end. It was Scott’s round, and he won the decision, which was popular. FEATHER-WEIGHT TITLE BAT BATTALINO BEATS ROUTIS (Australian and NJZ. Fress Association) NEW YORK, Monday. At Hartford. Connecticut, Bat Battalino, the local tig-liter, weighing Sst 1251 b. took the feather-weight championship from Andre Routis, Sst 1321 b. The latter fought gamely for 10 rounds, in spite of numerous cuts on the head. Battalino pushed the fight throughout and beat Routis with a continuous barrage of hard rights and lefts at will.
