Marton’s Jubilee

The town of Marton celebrates its jubilee today. In 50 years the district lias developed from a wilderness to one of the richest farming' areas on ; the West Coast, and the town into an important inland centre. Tomorrow old settlers will meet and on Saturday a carnival will be held, the Queen Alexandra and Wanganui Bands assisting.
