The young woman had complained of 1 nervous pains in her head, but a letter j witness had received from her last j Thursday was quite bright and she had said that she expected to be home j Mr. and Mrs. L. D. N. Blackford of 203. Point Chevalier Road gave evi- | donee as to the finding of the body at 6.30 o’clock yesterday morning. Miss Hewitt was lying dead in the bath and the room was filled with gas from the califont. Constable Spellman assured the : coroner that he had tried artificial : respiration with no result. There was no doubt that death was j due to gas poisoning, according to Dr. j Gilmore, and a verdict of suicide was | returned accordingly.
