When Alexander Lewis, of Frankton, a drover, recently left homd for a fortnight, he failed to provide for bis 14 dogs. . The neighbours called in the police, who fed the dogs daily. In the Police Court today Lewis pleaded guilty to ill-treating the animals and was fined £1 and costs. He admitted he was accustomed to feeding his dogs on pollard and water.
