LABOUR STILL DESIRES STATE OWNERSHIP “TO RESIST MONOPOLIES” Reed. 10 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. Mr. E. G. Theodore, the DeputyLeader of the Labour Party, in his opening campaign speech, said Labour, if it were returned to power, would not hesitate to establish a Com wealth-owned shipping line, to resist overseas monopolies. The Commonwealth Line, which had been a losing proposition to the Federal Government, was sold last year to the Aberdeen Line. Mr. W. M. Hughes and the Labour Party assailed the Bruce Government for selling the ships.
