BASKETBALL SEASON

PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES SATURDAY’S GAMES The finish of the Auckland Basketball Association's season was seen on Saturday afternoon, when the last games of the inter-club knock-out tournament were played off and cups and badges for the season were presented by the president, Miss F. E. Lee. Miss Lee said that the girls would have to make efforts to secure the Dominion championship next year toy more than they had done this year—the narrow margin of one goal. She referred to the work of Miss J. Mclntosh, who had been in the Auckland representative team since 1926. She was truly a “veteran” player. In announcing that the association’s vice-president. Miss J. Mueller, was leaving-Auckland to take up a post in Whangarei, Miss Lee wished her success in her new sphere of activity. Miss Mueller hud been captain of this year’s representative team. Concluding, the speaker thanked referees, old players and officers of the association for the .able help they had given her in her work. Cups were then presented to the winners of each grade championship for the sehson. The winning teams were:— Seniors. Varsity Whites; sec- , ond grade, Victoria; third grade.
