VISITORS ENTERTAINED
PAPAKURA ORPHANS MEET The official guests of the Papakui-a 1 Orphans’ Club on Saturday evening : were members of the Hamilton Club, including the president, Bro. Gilbert, ; vice-presidents, Bros. Patterson . and 1 Parlane, the secretary, Bro. H. Powell, and Bros. E. L. Watkins, T. Phillips.' E. R. Marsh, Mercer, Hopkins, D. C. Street, Stapleford, Houlton, Riley, A. Grant, Moore, Ken. Bade, and J. Battersby. Vice-president Bro. S. D. Rice, who presided over a large attendance. welcomed the guests warmly. The many visits during the past three years had produced the best of good feeling, an#were in keeping with the highest ideals of orphandom. President Bro. Gilbert, of the Hamilton Orphans, remarked on the very ! brotherly atmosphere of the gathering. President A\ . K. Erancis expressed i t!le club's regret at losing the club's j chief steward, Bro. J. Piddock, who is I leaving the district. ■ I A fine entertainment was given bv j j Messrs. B. Bickerton, Riley, Battersbv, j | Massee, Jenkins. Francis, Shellam, ; Eade, Simpson. Grant, and Joss, and by the club’s orchestra, under Bro. B ! Hopper.
