MAJOR JARVIE’S SEAT
NO OFFICIAL NATIONALIST TO STAND LABOUR MAN NOMINATED (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 10 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. The State Nationalist Executive decided not to call for nominations for the Ashfield seat, rendered vacant by the resignation of Major Milton L. F. Jarvie, who was concerned in the recent conspiracy scandals, therefore there will be no endorsed Nationalist candidate: but Mr. A. Pickett announced that he intended to stand as a Nationalist. Mr. J. Clancy has been selected by the Australian Labour Party as an endorsed Labour candidate. BAVIN GOVERNMENT CENSURE MOTION DEFEATED BY FIVE VOTES (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) SYDNEY, Friday. In the Legislative Assembly today the motion of censure moved by the Leader of the Opposition, Mr. J. T. Lang, was defeated by 42 votes to 37.
