Mr. A. E. Ellis was a passenger from th«* South by the Limited this morning. Mr. and Mrs. W. White, of Harapepe, are at the Royal Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. R. Hannon, of Cambridge, are guests at the Star Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. N. McNair, of Te Awamutu. are among the guests at the Albert Hotel. Mr. A. R. Entrican. of the State Forestry Department, left by train for the South last evening. Mr. C. M. Croft. Canadian Trade Commissioner, returned from 'Wellington by the Limited this morning. Dr. Muriel Saunders reached Auckland from Napier by the first express this morning. Mr. F. J. Ansell, of Wellington, axrived in Auckland this morning for a brief visit. Mr. B. Allen, general manager in New Zealand for United Artists’ Films, arrived from Wellington this morning. Mr. David Jones, M.P., has been unanimously re-elected chairman of the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Beard for another 12 months. Mr. J. Church president of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants, and Mr. Mcllvride, general secretary, are visiting Auckland. Sir Andrew Russell is suffering from cuts and a shaking, the result of his car being capsized over a bank through striking a straying horse on the Hast-ings-Havelock North Road.
