LETTERS REJECTED

COUNCIL DISLIKES TONE A complaint that the condition of Manly Esplanade “was a disgrace to 1 any member last Christmas, and a bad advertisement to Brown's Bay and to the council,” made by a ratepayer, was “not received” by the Waitemata County Council yesterday. “Will the esplanade be finished before Christmas this year?” the writer asked Because of the tone of the communication the council declined to receive it. Similar action was taken in regard to a letter from a Glen Eden resident, who had been dismissed from the council’s employment. He claimed he had not received the letter of nottlcation of his dismissal and wanted to see the minute of the decision to dismiss him. The communication contained imputations against a councillor.
