WHANGAREI UNEMPLOYED
WORK FOR 20 MEN From Our Own Correspondent 'WHANGAREI, Today. The Mayor of Whangarei, Mr W Jones, has sent the following telegram to the Minister of Public Works"Whangarei Borough Council unable to cope with unemployed. Could your department find work for an additional 30 men from tVhanga.rei.” A telegram was also dispatched to Mr. A. J. Murdoch, M.P., advising him of the request to the Minister and the following reply was received from Mr. Murdoch: “In response to my representations the Minister of Public W orks has authorised the district engineer at Whangarei to place a further 20 men from Whangarei on the Kiripaka Road.”
