RAETIHI WEDDING
RIPPINGALE —GODFREY A pretty wedding took place in tlie Raetihi Presbyterian Church, when Mary Edith Godfrey, daughter of Mrs. E. M. Mosen, Motete Road, was married to George C. A. Rippingdale, of Middle Road, Raetihi. The ceremony was conducted by the Rev. M. Nightingale, of Ohakune, and Mrs. Ciochetto presided at the organ. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her brother, Mr. W. H. Godfrey, was dressed in a charming frock of ivory crepe de chine, with overskirt of silver lace, the bodice daintily embroidered in lucky wedding pearls and finished at the waist with swathed belt and spray of orange blossom. The veil of embroidered tulle was daintily arranged in cap effect, with a wreath of orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of jonquils, freesias, stocks and asparagus fern, tied with white satin streamers. Miss Ellen Price was the only maid in attendance. She wore a pretty frock of cyclamen crepe de chine, with scalloped hem, daintily hand-embroid-ered in pastel, and finished at the waist with an ornament of diamente, which formed the centre of a graceful bow. A dainty posy of velvet flowers to tone was worn at the left shoulder. She also wore a beige hat, with sequin trimming, and carried a bouquet of freesias, stocks, anemones and asparagus fern, with mauve satin streamTho duties of best man were ably carried out by Mr. W. E. Warner. Mr. L. Godfrey was groomsman. The church was filled with guests and friends and the wedding bell, streamers and flowers made a pretty setting. The members of the Raetihi Volunteer Fire Brigade, under Superintendent Rose, lined the footpath from the church door, and the happy couple were liberally bestowed with confetti. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Druids' Hall, where Mrs. Mosen received her guests in a frock of chocolate brown crepe de chine, with hat to tone and fox fur, and she carried a bouquet of stocks, freesias and maidenhair fern. Mrs. Gripp, mother of the bridegroom, wore a navy tailored costume and hat. She also carried a bouquet of anemones and stock and maidenhair fern. of the wedding breakfast, after which a number of toasts were honoured. Mr Nightingale acted as chairman. To travel in Mrs. Rippingal© wore a french pleated frock of navy blue charmelaine, with hat in toning shade and fur-trimmed navy coat.
