Bright Dance by Matamata Folk
OLD PUPILS GATHER BRIGHT DECORATIONS The Matamata Old Pupils’ Association held its annual combined dance in the Town Hall on Thursday evening. The committee had spared no pains to make a success of it, and the decorations, designed in the association’s colours, orange and red, were very effective. A large number of dancers enjoyed the music of Pennell's Orchestra.. Messrs. E. C. Banks, junr., and T. Stanley were masters of ceremonies. Dresses noted were: Mrs. Wills, powder blue satin and silver lame; Mrs. Howes, black lace and tulle, with a gold shawl; Mrs. McKenna, green georgette and lace; Miss Bell, | black ■ crepe de chine and black shatvl in autumnal shades; Miss Banks, silver lame and lace; Miss W. Bates, air force blue taffeta and uneven hemline; Miss B. Bates, red satin, uneven hem; Miss Vosper, apricot crepe de chine and lace. Miss Little, apple green crepe de chine; Miss Simpson, pillar-box satin; Aliss Garland, blue and silver lame and georgette; Aliss A. Garland, powder blue Aliss Schwarz, moonlight blue chiffon velvet; Miss Kilbride, ivory satin; Aliss Cates, shell pink crepe de chine and lace; Miss Smith, flesh crepe de chine with silver beading; Aliss Carter, v\ hangarei, ankle length pink crepe de chine and silver lace; Aliss Duxfield, gold lace; Aliss T. Duxfield, apple green silk; Aliss H. Duxfield, pink crepe de chine. Miss Wade, nile green taffeta; Aliss Maude, lavender crepe de chine; Aliss AlcCardle, blue lame velvet; Aliss Hetlierington, red and gold lace; Aliss Waite, black panne velvet; Aliss V.
