was merely a stepping-stone for her. Tall, blonde, striking, she was an r'xcelb-nt type for show-girl work. A visit to Holy wood brought her tile news that “The Garden of Weeds,” .i play in which she had taken part, was being filmed. She applied for her old role and got it. and has risen steadily to the heights of picture acting ever since. Her last role before “Bulldog Drummond" rvas with Norma Shearer in “The Trial of Mary Dugan.”

Greta Garbo, whose latest MetroGold wyn-Mayer starring vehicle, "The Single Standard,” has just been completed, has begun work on an untitled production which is being directed by Jacques Feyder. Feyder, who achieved international fame as a director through his French productions. came to the M-G-M studios recently under exclusive contract and the present picture is an original story by himself. Harry Green is playing the title role in the Paramount all-talking picture. “Kibitzer," now in production at the Hollywood studios.
