MARY MACGREGOR

A VERSATILE ACTRESS If anyone can lay claim to having played almost every type of role, that one is Mary MacGregor, the Brisbane girl who is now appearing in Australia with Leon Gordon in “Brewster’s

Millions. Mary is as feminine as her name, but in “Brewster’s Millions” she assumes a monocle, wears manlsh. clothes, and her beautiful auburn hair is swept right back from her face With perfectly groomed shingle—a sufficient disguise for any woman. She manages her monocle perfectly, but how she does it is a secret—whether by practice or trickerv, she won’t tell. In Melbourne Miss MacGregor played Tondeleyo in “White Cargo,” and' it is said she was a very excellent African coquette too. Then there was Mary Dugan in “The Trial of Mary Dugan,” Beatrice in “Scandal,” and dozens of other roles one could mention. But her favourite part of all is Beatrice in “Scandal,” which afforded lier great opportunities for tempestuous emotion and a little sly comedy. Clara Bow will shortly start work on her latest all-talking picture titled “The Saturday Night Kid.” James Hall has been cast as leading man opposite the star.
