DENNIS BARRY RECITAL Enthusiasm rarely met with at a recital greeted Dennis Barry last evening at the Concert Chamber. It was another splendid evening's entertain-ment-—entertainment in its truest sense. Mr. Barry’s recital ranges through the best of poetry, song and drama. His work should be a model for all teachers of elocution and their pupils. One admires Mr. Barry's beautiful delivery, whether in the grandeur of i Shakespearean tragedy, the sly humour I of “The Jackdaw of Rheims.” the lovely poetry of Oscar Wilde’s fairy story, J The Nightingale and the Rose,” or the ! delicious Irish flavour of Housman’s . play. “Sister Clare.” F*»r his songs last evening Mr. Barry made a wide choice, including four of i the moderns and four from Shake- J spear©. These last are more suited ; to Mr. Barry’s voice. Miss Margot St. Lawrence Toner . hose some excellent compositions for her solo numbers, which were admir- ! ably played.
