RIALTO AND REGENT, EPSOM
“GOLF WIDOWS” There is great human appeal in “Golf .Widows,” the film now at the Rialto and Regent, Epsom Theatres. It has all the elements which go to make up an ideal photoplay—novel situations, plenty of comedy, real thrills, beautiful scenic backgrounds and a fine cast. Especially notable are the laugh provokers. They are original, pertinent to the plot and skilfully handled. The action revolves around a glib-talking, headstrong, insurance agent who, in trying to be accommodating, gets into endless complications with two of his clients, their wives and his own sweetheart. Vera Reynolds is the sweetheart, Harrison Ford the agent, Sally Rand and Kathleen Key the wives, Vernon Lent and Will Stanton the husbands. John Patrick is cast as a raan-about-town who takes the wives and the agent for a “skylark,” and finds himself pursued by two irate husbands and an agry sweetheart. “The Whip,” the second big attraction is a film version of the famous Drury Lane racing melodrama, starring Dorothy Mackaill and Ralph Forbes.
