Mr. A. S. Bankart returned from Wellington this morning on the Limited. Mr. H. C. Thomas, of Metro-Goldwyn films, arrived in Auckland this morning by the Limited. F. B. Cadman, of Palmerston North, arrived from the South by the Limited this morning. Mr. F. O. V. Acheson, Judge of the Native Land Court, left by train for Wellington last evening. The Hon. G. W. Russell returned by train to the South last evening, after spending a short time in Auckland. p r . W. Todd, late of Kaikohe, has been appointed medical officer at Murchison by the Nelson Hospital Board. The vicar of Tauranga, the Rev. X F. Hall, has been appointed vicar of the cathedral parish of fc?t. John at Napier. Mr. It. E. Champtaloup, touring manner of the Auckland Automobile Association, returned from Wellington by the Limited this morning. jj r . \V. J. Kerr, of the Y.M..C.A. migration department, Belfast, Ireland, is at present visiting New Zealand and is spending some days in Wellington. The Hon. Vernon Reed, tho Hon. W. Stewart and the Hon. C. J. Carrington, Members of the Legislative Council, arrived from Wellington this morning. Canon C. H. Grant Cowen lias accepted the office of honorary chaplain to the Fire Brigades’ Association, which was left vacant by the death of the late Rev. W. E. Gillarn. The Rev. Trevor V. C.ilfillan, son of Mr. H. Gilfillan, of St. Stephen’s Avenuo. Parnell, is on furlough in Auckland. Ho has been in China for nine years. Mr. E. Smith and Mr. 11. T. King, of Auckland, who have been attending a meeting of the Pharmaceutical Board in Wellington, arrived in Hamilton yesterday to attend the annual meeting of the Auckland Provincial Chemists’ Association. Mr. H. T. Merritt, president of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce. Mr. M. Stewart, vice-president, and Messrs. L. A. Eady and A. M.
