NEW PROPOSALS FOR N.Z. BOWLING TOURNAMENT NOT FAVOURED IN WELLINGTON
The Dominion Bowling Association's proposals in regard 10 future championship tournaments did not meet I with approval when submitted last . week to the Wellington Bowling Association. The Dominion body proposes that at the 1931 Dominion tournament only rink games shall be played, and that there be a full week of sectional play, the winners to go forward on the two-life principle. The governing authority also suggested that there be no singles and pairs competing at the Dominion tourney, but that there be a championship tournament in both North and South Islands at which singles and pairs be played, and that the winners in each Island meet at the Dominion tournament for the finals. Ir. forwarding the suggestions, the Dominion Association made no recommendations, but simply asked for an opinion on the matters referred to by the various provincial associations. The Wellington Association did not take long to deal with the suggestions, and after a short discussion it w.-is decided to reply stating that it was not in f ivo ir of the proposals.
