HUNTLY TOWN BOARD
i The Minister of Lands advised the 3 r Huntly Town Board at its meeting . I yesterday that an area of over 12 acres ! donated by the Taupiri Coal Company’ ’ | to the people of Huntly for a recreax tion ground had now been brought 3 under the Public Reserves Act of 1928, 3 and he desired to know if they wished [ to have the area controlled by a domain board or a local body. It was agreed that it be controlled by the latter, and the Minister is to be advised accordingly. An application for tw.o buildings to be erected in Ray tier's Road was declined owing to the area being too , small. , An offer of a weighbridge was de- • dined. ‘ It was decided to give the Hortii cultural Society a picture benefit on a i Sunday evening. It was decided to take steps to convert Huntly into a borough immediately.
