TAKANINI TRAINER HAS THE GOODS POSSIBILITIES FOR TOMORROW If ever it pays to follow a stable, then the string of thoroughbreds being prepared for racing at Takinini by J. T. Jamieson looks a good speculation. This trainer has had a unique run so far this season, winning four races out of five, and being second in the other. First of all he stepped out Refresher and Sea Cob at the Pakuranga meeting at Ellerslie just four weeks ago, and while the former just got home." Sea Cob made a proper job of the hacks opposed to him. The next meeting was that at Marton. and here trainer Jamieson produced both Eaglet and Prince Humphrey in the open sprint. Eaglet duly won. while Prince Humphrey was not far away behind the placed horses. That was that. Wanganui came next, and there Eaglet captured the Wanganui Guineas, while Prince Humphrey beat all but Laughing Prince in the sprint the first day. This was really good going, and demonstrated the value not only of the Takanini as winter tracks, but the fact that Jamieson had kept li ; s charges—at least those required for early racing—right up to the collar. At Avondale tomorrow he is likely to saddle up nine horses, the stable being represented in all but the hurdle race. JT from this contingent

not a single winner should come, we will be surprised. It does not seem possible, with such real good ones as Eaglet, Hard Words, Prince Humphrey and Sea Cob engaged. On Monday the stable has three chances of pulling off the Avondale Guineas, for Eaglet, Refresher and Clopton still remain in that classic. It js more than likely that Eaglet will be the stable elect on the day. but in the event of anything happening to prejudice the filly’s prospects or preventing her from running, there will be the other pair to fall back upon. J. T. Jamieson's team for tomorrow is as follows: Maiden Plate (First Division). — Clopton. Members’ Handicap.—Mithra. Avondale Cup.—Prince Humphrey. Avondale Stakes.—Hard Words, Zadok and Sight Draft. Flying Stakes.—Eaglet. Swanson Handicap.—Sea Cob. Henderson Handicap.—Le Choucas. Avondale Guineas (Run on Monday).—Eaglet, Refresher and Clopton. Associated with the successes to date of the Takanini stable has been jockey IT. Goldfinch, who showed that he was in his best form by punching home four horses at Wanganui last Aveek. Goldfinch will be on the members of Jamieson’s string tomorrow, his mount in the classic being Hard Words: in this event it is probable that this youngster will be the stable elect.
