Mr. Justice Blair travelled to Hamilton last evening by the Limited. Mr. T. T. Hugo, inspector of fire brigades, is staying at the Star Hotel. Mr. W. Goodfellow returned to Auckland from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Mr. H. S. W. King returned to Auckland yesterday, after a visit to Wellington. He has been presiding at the technical schools’ conference. Mr. Justice Frazer, president of the Arbitration Court, who spent some weeks in Australia investigating the working of the industrial arbitration system, has returned to Wellington. Sir Louis Barnett, Dr. P. E. Allison, X)r. R- A. Fulton, Dr. A. Josephs, Dr. H. Jellett, Dr. P. Lynch, Dr. E. Lynch, Dr. J. Moore, Dr. S. Moore, and Dr. T. M. Usher, who attended the medical conference in Sydney, returned to Wellington by the Ulimaroa. Dr. H. Belshaw, Professor of Economics at the Auckland University College, Mr. L. G. Hogwood, 8.A., and Miss Vera Hay, M.Sc., will sail for Sydney by the Ulimaroa on Friday. There they will join the Kaga Maru en route for Japan, where they will attend the conference of the Institute of Pacific Relations to be held from October 23 to November 9. Mr. H. C. Jones, president of the North Island Motor Union, and a member of the Transport Advisory Council, and Mr. R. E. Champtaloup, ouring manager of the Auckland Automobile Association, left for Wellington last evening to attend a deputation to wait upon the Prime Minister in connection with the proposal to dispense with the free grant of £200,000 usually made by the Government to the funds of the M&in Highways Board.
