“BOBBY-CALF BUSINESS” POLICE CHARGE FUluw From Our Oven Correspond o PUKEKOHE, Wednesday Charges of being found on license* premises at Paturnahoe after closing hours w r ere preferred against J. McCormick, A. Lovett and W. Pellow at the Pukekohe Court today. Police evidence showed that the trio was found in an office adjoining the bar talking to the licensee. For the defence Adolph Parris, licensee of the hotel, stated that two of the men, McCormick and Pellow. had called to see him relative to some “bobby” calves, the former having recently been reappointed to collect the animals. Witness desired to procure some for his farm in the Pokeno district. The man Lovett had been invited in at his (Parris’s) request. The door of the office was open and the slide into the bar had been locked since closing time. Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M., dismissed charges.
