ANOTHER FINE PROGRAMME jl Another tine programme by the ] Westminster Glee Singers attracted an appreciative audience at His Majesty's Theatre last evening. Opening with Beale's Madrigal, “The j Roundelay." the programme included such line numbers as Armstrong Gibbs's "Five Ryes,” "X’he Ash Grove, Cowan’s “Border Ballad.” “From the Rising Sun” (Ousley), “ V*>,!th.” "Oft j in the Stilly Night,” and the usual en- I tertaining bracket of sea chanteys. The singing of the boy sopranos in . Easthope Martin’s “Come to the | < i Fair,” was warmly applauded, and an \ \ I extra number had to be given. ' j In the glees and anthems, partij cularly clean work was shown by the j j adult choristers, splendid tonal balance also being obtained. For the benefit of the country res;- 1 dents the Westminster Glee Singers ; will appear at Whangarei on Monday j and Tuesday, and at- Hamilton on Fri- | day and Saturday of next week. There will be a complete change of : programme this evening, tomorrow and on Saturday, when performances will be given in the afternoon and j evening.
