WHERE TALKIE PLAYERS COME FROM With all this talk about which will survive on the screen, “stage or screen players,” a survey of just one single company in the industry reveals that very few “screen” artists gained their studio places without preliminary stage experience. In Cecil B. De Mille’s “Dynamite.” out of 27 programmed players only three are “stage” actors, taking the interpretation as meaning Thespians without any preliminary screen training On the other hand, there are 18 players who have done movies for two years or more, but before that time had served long periods on the St Of e the cast of 27, but six were purely “screen” players with no previous stage experience.
