DENNIS BARRY
CONCERT CHAMBER THIS EVENING Dennis Barry, acclaimed by the English Press as “as sound an actor as there is on the stage today,” who delighted Aucklanders a short time ago with his performances of Shakespearian characters, will commence at the Concert Chamber this evening, a series of recitals of poetry, drama and song. He will be assisted by Miss Margot St. Lawrence Toner, solo pianist and accompanist. Mr. Barry, who is known on the English stage as the romantic actor singer, has been spending a short holiday in New Zealand and has been prevailed upon by his friends to present selections from his repertoire of English literature—romantic, dramatic, humourous—also the songs of Shakespeare, folk-songs and ballads. He will appear again tomorrow evening and on Saturday afternoon and evening. The box plan is at Lewis Eady, Limited. Concessions will be granted to students in parties of ten or more.
