Mr. A. S. Bankart left by train for Wellington last evening. Mr. J. S. Brigham, town clerk, travelled to Wellington last evening. The lion. (I. W. Wing-Commander fc>. Grant Dalton, who is temporarily taking up the position of Director of the New Zealand Permanent Air Force, vice Major Wilkes, arrived in Wellington by the Tamaroa yesterday. The Rev. Alfred F. l-lall, vicar of Tauranga, has been appointed vicar of the Cathedral Church of St. John the Evangelist, Xapier, in succession to the late Dean Mayne.—P.A. Sir Frederick Lang, and the Hons, (i. J. Garland, C. J. Carrington and Vernon Reed. M.L.C’s.. and Mr. M. J. Savage, and Mr. PI. O. R. Mason, M.P.’s, left by train for Wellington last evening. Major O. 11. Mead, D. 5.0., who has been through a course at the Staff College. Camberley. and was afterwards attached for training, returned to Wellington yesterday by the Tamaroa. Dr. H. S. Billclift*. superintendent of the Ashburton Hospital, returned today by the Port Victor from New York after spending two years abroad visiting hospitals in France and the United States. Ite is accompanied by his wife and daughter. Mr. Mervyn Simmonds, deputyregistrar of the Plamilton Supreme Court was bade farewell by bis colleagues on the eve of his departure to Tauranga to take up the position of clerk of court.
