Ross gave a very happy bridge party for some of her friends. Her drawing room was delightfully decorated with spring flowers. She was wearing a gown of gobelin blue georgette. Her guests were Mrs. J. Cox and the late Mr. J. G. C. Cox, formerlv of Wairarapa, and now Glen Massey. ENTERTAINING EVENING BRIGHT PROGRAMME AT FRENCH CLUB MRS. O’HALLORAN AS HOSTESS j Lilies and spring flowers decorated ' the rooms of the Auckland French I Club on Monday, when many members and friends attended. Mrs. O’Halloran was hostess for the evening. M. Paul. Serre, French Consul, read a poem of his own composition on the club, tiiis being much enjoyed. The reminiscences of conversations with Major-General Sir George Richardson during the war, given by M. Emile Bonnechaux, were" most interesting, adding greatly to the pleasure of the evening. Mrs. O’Halloran wore a gown of black satin faille, with draped skirt, caught with a diamente buckle. Enjoyable items were:—Songs, by Misses G. Pickett, Joan Everington and M. l oungson. An excellent pianoforte solo was given by Miss Una Cleaves. A play, “Odette depeche toi (Odette, hurry up!") was given, the parts being taken by Miss Germaine Van Osselaer and Mr G II Bassant.
